Cal Poly Music Department Announces 2018-19 Events
SAN LUIS OBISPO — The Cal Poly Music Department 2018-19 season begins with three faculty recitals.
On Sept. 29, violinist Brynn Albanese will perform an eclectic mix of solo violin works. She will be joined for duo performances by faculty members Ken Hustad, bass; and John Astaire, percussion; plus guest guitarist Jack Cimo.
On Oct. 6, “Brahms Songs” will be presented by Katherine Arthur, soprano; Paul Woodring, piano; and David Arrivée, lecturer. It will be a delightful afternoon of performance and exploration of many well-known and loved Brahms songs.
The third faculty recital will be Oct. 19, when up to 12 faculty members are slated to perform, including Amy Goymerac, soprano; Brynn Albanese, violin; Heidi Butterfield, oboe; Keith Waibel, clarinet; Laura Kramer, baritone saxophone; Lisa Nauful, bassoon; Mark Miller, trombone; Christopher J. Woodruff, trumpet; Barbara Spencer, cello; John Astaire, percussion; and Ken Hustad, bass. University organist and staff accompanist Paul Woodring will play piano.

- Dec. 7: Fall Jazz Concert
The department will ring in the new year in with a solo piano recital by W. Terrence Spiller on Jan. 11, and Bach Week Jan. 22-26.

Patrons receive a 10 percent when buying season tickets to four Music Department events through the Performing Arts Ticket Office; a 15 percent discount is offered on tickets to five or more events.
All events are sponsored by Cal Poly’s Music Department and the College of Liberal Arts. Several are also sponsored by the Instructionally Related Activities program.
