MEDIA ALERT: U.S. Rep. Lois Capps to Host Clean Energy Forum Oct. 16 at Cal Poly

What: Building a Clean Energy Economy: Challenges and Opportunities for the Central Coast, a panel discussion hosted by Congresswoman Lois Capps.

Where: Performing Arts Center Pavilion, Cal Poly

When: Friday, Oct. 16, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

More information: The public and the media are invited as Capps moderates a panel discussion with experts from the energy industry and academia to examine the economic and environmental benefits of shifting to a clean energy economy and the challenges that still need to be overcome to transition away from fossil fuels.

The panelists are:

— Bill Toman, CalWave project director through Cal Poly’s Institute for Advanced Technology and Public Policy

— Tryg Lundquist, Cal Poly professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering

— Dawn Legg, EVC, co-chair of Energy Cluster

— Mitchell Samuelian, vice president of operations, NRG Renew

Following the discussion, there will be an opportunity for audience questions for the panel.
