Cal Poly's ‘Take It SLO’ a Capella Ensemble To Perform Twice May 31

SAN LUIS OBISPO — Take It SLO, one of Cal Poly’s a cappella ensembles, will present its spring concert at 1 and 7 p.m. Sunday, May 31, in Room 218 of the Davidson Music Center (Building 45) on campus.

The 16-member student ensemble will sing a variety of popular songs arranged by the students and alumni of the group.  

Take It SLO has received statewide recognition over the past few years competing in the International Championship of College A Cappella West Coast Quarterfinals and participating in the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival. Last year, the group garnered media attention when its members were invited to perform with Jason Mraz in the Performing Arts Center.

The group’s members are students from a variety of majors, including business, microbiology and engineering.

Take It SLO’s four CD’s, including the new “SLO Motion,” will be on sale for $5 each.

Admission will be $7 at the door for the public and $5 for students. The concerts are sponsored by the Cal Poly Music Department and College of Liberal Arts.
