Cal Poly College of Architecture & Environmental Design Names Assistant Dean of Financial and Data Assessment
SAN LUIS OBISPO — Cal Poly’s College of Architecture & Environmental Design has named Mariam Emyan as the assistant dean of financial and data assessment.
Emyan will oversee the college’s organizational planning, resource management, and program development and assessment.
“Mariam brings a wealth of experience in finance, organizational planning and program assessment,” said Christine Theodoropoulos, dean of the College of Architecture & Environmental Design. “Her strategic leadership will be invaluable to the college and the leadership team.”
Emyan is a Cal Poly alumnus with more than 10 years of experience working in higher education. She spent several years as Cal Poly’s director of administrative services for University Advancement, managing financial planning, operations, personnel and institutional reporting.
Most recently she served in an advisory capacity to the vice president for University Advancement, Deborah Read. Emyan’s international work experience includes working for the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“I am honored to serve as the assistant dean of financial and data assessment for the College of Architecture & Environmental Design, which is the largest program of its type in the nation,” Emyan said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented and dedicated faculty and students.”
Emyan earned an MBA from Cal Poly in 2006. She also holds a master’s degree in general administration from the Public Administration Academy, Armenia.
