Cal Poly Named Top Producer of U.S. Fulbright Scholars
Interim Director of International Education and Programs Also Recognized

SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Institute of International Education and the Fulbright Program have named Cal Poly as one of this year’s Fulbright Scholarship Top Producer of U.S. Fulbright Scholars and acknowledged the excellent work of Raymond Zeuschner, interim director of International Education and Programs.

Cal Poly, with two Fulbright Scholars named, was included in the Master’s Institution category for 2011-12. It followed Towson University and Cal State Los Angeles, which both had four Fulbright Scholars named, and the College of New Jersey, Creighton, Drury and Marshall universities, where each had three scholars identified.

Zeuschner, who is also a professor of communications studies, was singled out for his “strong contributions to the program’s success at Cal Poly.”

The top-producing institutions in all Carnegie Classifications were highlighted in the Oct. 24 digital edition of The Chronicle of Higher Education and can be seen online at http://chronicle.com/article/Top-Producers-of-US/129451/.

The Fulbright Program is the nation's flagship academic exchange program. It is known for its contributions to leadership development across academia, government, commerce, health, science and the arts.
