Cal Poly Construction Management Scores
Multiple First Place Finishes in National Competition

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Cal Poly Construction Management student teams received more first place finishes and more trophies overall than any other school during the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) National and Regional Student Competitions.

The Cal Poly teams garnered first place finishes in multiple categories at the National Competition: Mechanical, LEED and Building Information Modeling (BIM). They also placed second in the Electrical division.

They also earned first place in the Heavy/Civil category and third place in the Multi-Family division at the regional level.  The team that placed first in the Heavy/Civil category earned the right to compete in the Associated General Contractors (AGC) National Student Competition in San Diego March 4-6.

Award criteria included estimating, bidding, planning, scheduling, presentation skills, creativity, understanding of sound construction techniques and thoughtful methodologies.

The competitions were held in Reno, Nev., Feb. 11-14, and included nearly 1,350 students from 37 universities across the country.
