SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly professors and students joined Congresswoman Lois Capps at a press conference on campus July 2 to outline university funding awards from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
To date, Cal Poly professors and students have received over half a million dollars in federal economic stimulus funding to help pay for research and teaching opportunities at the university over the next two years.

The total allocation of $26,543 will allow Cal Poly to hire one high school student and one college undergraduate to conduct original research at Cal Poly this summer and next summer.
