Cal Poly Opens Fall Registration May 6
New Registration Date Helps University Address Student Demand
SAN LUIS OBISPO – For the first time in the university’s history, Cal Poly will open fall 2009-10 registration two months early to help accommodate student demand for classes and help them finish their undergraduate education on time.
Registration begins May 6, and student fees are due July 27.
The move comes in light of current California state budget constraints.
“Cal Poly is working hard to honor our commitment to students to help them earn their degrees in a timely manner,” said Cal Poly Provost Bob Koob. “We can’t let state politics and budget disagreements get in the way of student progress.”
By starting earlier the university hopes to effectively monitor course demand and adjust schedules accordingly to best meet student needs.
