Cal Poly Students to Perform Scenes From Strauss Operetta April 11-12
SAN LUIS OBISPO - Students in Cal Poly's Opera Workshop will perform arias, duets and ensembles from Johann Strauss' operetta "Die Fledermaus" (The Bat) on Friday and Saturday, April 11-12, in the Spanos Theatre on campus.
The two performances, both at 8 p.m., allow more students an opportunity to participate.
Jacalyn Kreitzer, Cal Poly voice, performance and diction teacher is the workshop producer. Performances are directed by Ross Halper of the San Francisco Opera and conducted by music faculty member David Arrivée.
Tickets are $6 for students and senior citizens and $10 for the public. They are on sale at the Performing Arts Ticket Office 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekends. Order online at www.pacslo.org or by phone, call SLO-ARTS (756-2787); to order by fax, dial 756-6088.
Patrons who buy season tickets to four Music Department events through the Performing Arts Ticket Office will receive a 10 percent discount; a 15 percent discount is given to those who buy tickets to five or more events.
