Polynesian Music and Dance Group Will Perform at Cal Poly May 31
SAN LUIS OBISPO—A musical celebration of Hawaiian, Tahitian, and Maori culture will be presented by song and dance troupe “Na Mele o ke Kai” on Saturday, May 31, at 7 p.m., in the Alex and Faye Spanos Theater on the Cal Poly campus.
Sponsored by the Pacific Dance Center and Cal Poly’s MultiCultural Center, the program will feature over 50 performers in a show entitled “Ano ai ke Aloha,” which translates to “Greeting of Aloha.” Through song and dance, the group hopes to promote Polynesian culture to the community.
Tickets for the “Ano ai ke Aloha” performance range from $10-$25 and can be purchased by calling 805-756-ARTS or visiting http://www.pacslo.org.

About “Na Mele a ke Kai:”
Established in 1994 through a sponsorship by the Cal Poly Pacific Rim Group, “Na Mele a ke Kai” has entertained thousands of people on the Central Coast through Polynesian culture, art, food, and crafts. Based at the Pacific Dance Center in Morro Bay, the group has grown from 10 individuals to include more than 60 hula students and a large number of musicians.
