Distinction Between Science, Engineering To Be Topic of Nov. 29 Talk at Cal Poly
SAN LUIS OBISPO – The director of research and education at the Science Foundation Arizona will discuss the distinction between science and engineering from 11:10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Advanced Technology Laboratory in the Keck Building (#007) at Cal Poly.
Leonard W. Fine will present “The Fine Line: Engineer or Scientist?” as part of the College of Engineering’s Distinguished Lecture Series. Fine will talk about the nature of engineering – the “unnatural” science -- based on such 20th century inventions as the light bulb, the laser and LED (light-emitting diode).
The talk is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Amy Hewes in the College of Engineering at 756-6402.
