College of Architecture and Environmental Design Names New Assistant Dean for Advancement

SAN LUIS OBISPO - The College of Architecture and Environmental Design recently named Linda Kristenson as the new assistant dean for advancement.

Kristenson began her new position earlier this month after spending seven years as the director of corporate and foundation relations in Cal Poly's University Advancement Division, and four years as the director of development for Cal Poly's College of Engineering.

Kristenson replaces Tanya Kiani, the former director of advancement for the CAED, who moved to the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences.

Before coming to Cal Poly, Kristenson spent two years as the director of development at Santa Monica College , where she was the first to secure support from the private sector, resulting in major gifts totaling more than $1.25 million.

Dean R. Thomas Jones said he is grateful to have Kristenson on staff. "Prior to becoming a member of our team we collaborated with Linda on major grant applications and other goals," he said. "With her stellar record of accomplishments on this campus, she brings great organizational skills, strategic thinking and a real positive energy to our advancement efforts."

Kristenson received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in psychology, both from the University of Colorado , Boulder . She is a member of the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo.
