Cal Poly College of Liberal Arts Announces New Director of Advancement

SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal Poly's College of Liberal Arts has appointed Eileen E. Joseph as director of advancement.

Joseph took over the leadership of the college's advancement efforts on Oct. 4. In her new role at Cal Poly, Joseph will primarily be responsible for spearheading the advancement efforts of the college. In particular, she will seek to secure the private support necessary to meet the funding priorities of the college, said College of Liberal Arts Dean Linda H. Halisky.

Joseph, from Castle Rock, Colo., has an extensive background in fund raising for various for-profit and nonprofit groups, including seven years with the United Way. As president and co-founder of Full-Circle Impact, a consulting company, she sought to provide her clients with a meaningful, focused and results-driven approach to their philanthropic endeavors, Halisky said in announcing the appointment. Joseph's experience also includes teaching courses on nonprofit management at Regis University.

Joseph earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Bucknell University and an M.A. degree in public administration from the University Virginia, Charlottesville.

She is living in San Luis Obispo with her husband, Brian Self, a tenure-track faculty member in the university's College of Engineering.
