Cal Poly Professor Appointed to Advisory Board of HUD 'Cityscape' Journal
SAN LUIS OBISPO - Cal Poly professor and City and Regional Planning Department head William Siembieda has been appointed to the advisory board of "Cityscape: A Journal of Policy Development and Research."
Darlene F. Williams, Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research at the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development made the appointment. The journal is funded by HUD.
An expert in housing, land and urban affairs policy, Siembieda was chosen for his extensive experience in housing and land policy in Mexico and Latin America .
Siembieda begins his three-year term July 1. As part of a seven member board, he will advise on journal direction, and help promote high-quality research that is useful to professionals and policy makers. He is the only member from a university west of the Mississippi .
"Cityscape" is a national journal that shares HUD-funded studies and other research on housing and urban policy issues with scholars, government officials and policy makers. Published three times per year, the journal focuses on innovative ideas, policies and programs that show promise in revitalizing cities and regions, renewing their infrastructure and creating economic opportunities.
