'Palestine Peace Process and Its Failures' Topic of Nov. 17 Talk at Cal Poly
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Professor Ilan Pappe of Haifa University in Israel will give a presentation titled "The 'Palestine Peace Process and Its Failures" from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in Philips Hall in the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly.
The talk will examine the history of the peace process in Palestine
over the last 40 years. It will focus on the guidelines that informed
the peacemakers and try to explain why these guidelines failed to
deliver the coveted peace, said Manzar Foroohar, a Cal Poly professor
of history
who will serve as moderator for the event.
Some general remarks aimed at possible advancement toward peace
in Palestine and Israel will also be presented.
The talk is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the
Cal Poly College of Liberal Arts and History Department. For more
