"Paintings by Bryon Hoffman" will be in the UU Gallery

The collection represents award-winning graphic design student Byron Hoffman's experimentations in bold color and texture enriched with graphic and fine arts elements.

An opening reception with refreshments and a chance to meet the artis will be held Thursday, January 6, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. in the UU Gallery. The event is free and open to all community members.

"My subject matter varies from simple portraits to narrative-driven works possessing multiple layers of readings," Hoffman said. "One can interpret sadness, frustration, contemplation and heavy doses of dark humor."

Hoffman has exhibited his paintings at shows in Morro Bay, Napa Valley and San Francisco. He received multiple awards at these shows including first and third places at the 2004 Napa Valley Expo Professional Art Exhibition, first place at the 2004 Cal Poly Student Show and first place for the 2004 Morro Bay Art Association scholarship.
