WHAT: The Cal Poly College of Agriculture's inaugural Carver College
WHEN: Sunday-Thursday (June 23-27)
WHO: This new summer program will give 24 high-achieving high school
students from disadvantaged areas of California a unique opportunity to
study the science and technology of agriculture and ag-related
industries.
WHERE: On the Cal Poly campus
AMONG BEST PHOTO OPS:
From 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday (June 24), students will conduct lab
experiments in embryology in Rooms 306-307 of the Agricultural Sciences
Building.
On Tuesday (June 25) from 8:30 a.m. to noon, the students will learn
about cheese making in Cal Poly's hands-on Dairy Products Technology
Center, a state-of-the-art, full-scale dairy facility. That afternoon,
1-4:30 p.m., they'll work on soil properties in Laboratory A5-A7 of the
Science Building.
Wednesday 1-4:30 p.m. the students will be at the Morro Bay estuary.
