Human Rights in Chile, Augusto Pinochet To Be Topic
of Feb. 28 Talk at Cal Poly
An expert on civil-military relations, political repression and human rights
will present "Human Rights Policy in Chile: The Case of Augusto Pinochet"
Feb. 28 at Cal Poly.
UC Riverside Political Science Professor David Pion-Berlin will speak at 11 a.m.
in Room E-27 in the Science Building.
Pion-Berlin recently returned from Chile, where he interviewed various
individuals involved in human rights policy.
He is widely known for his research and writings, including "Civil-Military
Relations in Latin America: New Analytical Perspectives" and "Through
Corridors of Power: Institutions and Civil-Military Relations in
Argentina."
The free public talk is sponsored by Cal Poly's Political Science Department.
