Homecoming 2010
At Homecoming 2010 on Oct. 30, Cal Poly marked the 50th anniversary of the tragic airplane crash in Ohio that killed 16 members of the Mustang’s football squad and six other people. Some of the 26 survivors of the Oct. 29, 1960, crash attended a memorial service, along with their family members and other university friends and dignitaries. Afterward, the Mustangs beat their Homecoming opponent, Saint Francis (Pa.), by a score of 41-33.
